Why parents ask for geofencing
You do not want to open the app fifty times
A notification that they got there is the weekday product. Staring at a map is the exception.

History is not the same feature
A trail of where they walked is a different, heavier product. Kin does not keep a permanent trail.
A fence is not a lock
Leaving a place sends a nudge. It does not stop the leaving.

Who can draw a place
Authorised family, not a single parent’s phone that nobody else can edit.
Whether the wearer can disable places
On Kin they can; the family sees that places are off.
Cellular, or hope
A geofence cannot fire if the device cannot report. That means GPS plus a network.
Places that earn a fence
Arrival confirms they are on site. Departure at the right time confirms the day ended.
The other end of the walk. Useful when another adult is collecting.

A fence the size of a city is a notification you will never trust. Keep places tight.

Set up the tracker
Charge Kin One and switch it on. The SIM is already inside and already paid for — there is no carrier to call.
Add it to your family
Scan the code in the Kin app and name who wears it. Authorised family members see the same map on their own phones.
View location
Open the app for whether they arrived or left a place you named. Follow mode is a live position only while you are looking.
Create alerts
Draw a safe place — home, school, the yard. One nudge on arrival, one on leaving. Nothing in between.

Geofence questions
Is geofencing GPS?
The device still uses GPS (or indoor fallback) to know it crossed a line. The geofence is the line plus the alert.
Will I know every movement inside school?
Not on Kin. Inside the place is silent on purpose.
Can I get a trail of the walk home?
Kin does not keep a permanent breadcrumb trail. Open follow mode while you are looking if you need a live point.
How many places can I have?
Enough for the real week — home, school, the regular extra. Treat it like a short list, not a GIS project.
What if GPS jumps and I get a false leave?
Urban canyons and indoor edges can jitter. That is a limitation of consumer GNSS, not a promise we can magic away.
Is this the same as the school page?
No. School is the use case. This page is the arrive/leave feature in general.
