Does camp allow it?
Get a yes. School-mode watches are often banned for the same reason as phones.
Is the site in US/Canada 4G?
If the camp is abroad or off-grid, Kin One is the wrong purchase for that week.
Who is authorised at home
Two parents staring at the same pin should already have access.
Battery versus a session
About a month ordinarily. Do not spend the week in follow mode “just in case.”
When it still helps
Closer to school. Arrive/leave on the camp place. You are still nearby.
A safe place around the camp. Leave-alerts if they go off site. Then you call staff, not the pin.
Leave the tracker at home. You bought a philosophy, not a radio.
Kin One is not a worldwide roaming locator. Do not pack it as one.

Will camp let them wear it?
Ask. We cannot override a director’s rule.
Can I watch them live all week?
Follow mode is while you are looking, then it stops. A week-long stare is not the product and costs battery.
What if they go on a hike?
If there is no 4G, there is no update. That is the radio, not a defect you can review away.
Is this the travel page?
No. Travel assumes you are on the trip. Camp assumes you are not.
Should staff be on the map?
Authorised family is the model. Camp staff have their own systems. Do not deputise a counsellor in the app without a real agreement.
AirTag in a trunk instead?
A tag finds luggage in a crowd of iPhones. It is still not a child locator, and camp woods are not a departure hall.
